A formulated preparation providing cellular nutrients for lung cells suffering extreme inflammatory reactions. PNP 6 has been used by people living with asthma. There have been no adverse reactions and all participants felt comfortable with the PNP 6. This work is in the early stages of research.

Peak has a range of natural food plant compounds that modify fatty acid metabolism at a cellular level and alter the production of inflammatory cytokines that are thought to cause the obstruction of airways and the coughing and wheezing associated with asthma. These compounds have the added benefit that they reduce the impact of viral and bacterial infections on bronchial and throat cells affected by asthma. As all asthmatics are aware lung and throat infections can dramatically exacerbate asthma.

We currently have a formulation that will reduce the cellular dysfunction associated with asthma and we are trying to blend this with our fatty acid formulation that will assist asthma affected lung cells into responding in a normal manner to immune challenge. We will report further as research progresses.

In a paper published in Clinical and Experimental Allergy 2001 Vol 31 747-755 it was shown that fruit, whole grain and alcohol have beneficial and additive effects in improving obstructive lung disease. Statistically significant increases in forced expired volume of air were obtained by consumption of in excess of 180 grams of fruit a day combined with in excess of 45 grams of whole grains and 10-30 grams of alcohol a day. This research has significant applications to asthma, emphysema, other obstructive lung diseases and heart disease.
